She began her career in the theater, appearing in Broadway productions such as "The Cat and the Fiddle" (1930) and "The Women" (1931). She made her film debut in 1932 in the drama "The Rich Are Always with Us". She went on to appear in a number of films, including "The Story of Louis Pasteur" (1936), "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" (1938), and "The Great Dictator" (1940). She also appeared in television shows such as "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (1952-1953) and "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin" (1954-1959). She passed away on April 28, 1988 in Los Angeles, California.
