Maire Brennan is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. She is best known as the lead vocalist of the band Clannad, which she formed with her siblings in 1970. She has released several solo albums, including her debut album, Máire, in 1992. She has also collaborated with other artists, including Enya, Bono, and The Chieftains. Maire Brennan was born on 4 August 1952 in Dublin, Ireland. She is the eldest of nine children born to Leo and Máire Ní Bhraonáin. She began her musical career at the age of eight, when she joined her siblings in the family band Clannad. The band released their first album in 1973 and went on to become one of the most successful Irish bands of all time. Maire Brennan has released several solo albums, including Máire (1992), Perfect Time (1995), Whisper to the Wild Water (1999), Two Horizons (2003), and An Irish Christmas (2006). She has also collaborated with other artists, including Enya, Bono, and The Chieftains. Maire Brennan is married to Tim Jarvis and has three children. She currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.
