David Gyasi is a British actor best known for his roles in Interstellar, Cloud Atlas, and The Dark Knight Rises. He was born on 2 January 1980 in Hammersmith, London, England. Gyasi attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 2003. He made his television debut in 2004, appearing in an episode of the British medical drama Casualty. He went on to appear in a number of British television series, including Holby City, The Bill, and Doctors. In 2012, Gyasi made his feature film debut in the science fiction epic Cloud Atlas. He went on to appear in the 2014 science fiction film Interstellar, and the 2012 superhero film The Dark Knight Rises. Gyasi has also appeared in a number of stage productions, including the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Comedy of Errors in 2006.
