Bjørn Lomborg is a Danish author, environmentalist, and political scientist. He is the director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, an independent think tank that focuses on cost-benefit analysis of global problems. He is best known for his controversial book The Skeptical Environmentalist (2001), which challenged the view that environmental degradation is one of the most pressing issues facing the world today. Lomborg has written several other books, including Cool It (2007), How to Spend $75 Billion to Make the World a Better Place (2008), and The Nobel Laureates’ Guide to the Smartest Targets for the World (2009). He has also been a visiting professor at the Copenhagen Business School and a professor at the Copenhagen Institute of Futures Studies.
